Correction

Thanks Scott for correcting me on the Sticker Stadium. I knew it didn't seem correct as I was thinking about it all night long and then blogging.

So...the hill was called "Stickery Mountain," just for the sake of accuracy.

The smell of a tree

I was riding my bike from my apartment to my house and kind of taking the long way through some neighborhoods. I passed a tree that reminded me instantly of my childhood. It was the kind of tree that used to grow in the trailer park I grew up in. But this tree seemed to be more prevalent at the dirt hill at the top row of the trailer park.

It's one of the places we used to play as kids. I think we called it "sticker stadium." Am I wrong about that?

It's also the place that Lynda, MaryAnn, Anne Ireland and I had our secret "stick and rock" club.

And I was terrified of going up there alone.

These were the thoughts that raced through my mind from smelling the tree as I was enjoying a bit of a bike ride...good times.

A Sunset and Seven Days

So...first things first. Last night was an amazing sunset with this fantastic, really bright rainbow running through it. It was really strange to see the totally orange sky in the east and the rainbow. Weird and lovely all at the same time. Jacob caught a picture on my camera that turned out pretty good. It doesn't do it full justice but you may get the idea.

Second things second, I am getting married in one week! Is it just me or did time go by so fast?!? It is strange to think that in a mere 7 days I will no longer be single. I find myself becoming more and more emotional thinking about it all. Which is really a bad sign. If I get a little weepy now imagine the wreck I will be on the actual day.

I am now probably going to wax a little cheesey and sentimental so continue reading at your own risk. You have been warned.

I think I get emotional because I am so happy. I am excited to be starting this chapter in my life, and probably a little scared too. Happy because I look forward to getting to know Jacob better and to grow together as a family. Scared because I know that growth is going to be difficult and a lot of hard work. But I am lucky. Lucky because I get to go through it all with Jacob. He is known to some as Jacob the Amazing and I am here to tell you it is true. He is amazing!

I'll stop now.

7 DAYS!

The Taste

Jacob and I went to the taste of Fort Collins on Saturday to see Sugar Ray and enjoy some good food. The admission prices doubled if you went after 3 pm so we were doing our best to get there before 3. We barely made it. But this left us with a lot of time to spend looking at the booths and playing games as the concert didn't actually start until 7. But it was a pretty good time hangin' with each other.

We enjoyed fresh, mini cinnamon doughnuts.

We enjoyed kettle corn.

We enjoyed some Sugar Ray music.

And, most of all, we enjoyed each other.

The School Girl Apron

I know I don't officially become a Brunson for 12 more days, but perhaps my real initiation into the family came when I made an apron.

That sounds strange to many of you, I'm sure, but stick with me...it will all make sense.

Jacob's mom creates patterns for her business, many of which are apron patterns. I decided a few months ago that I needed an apron. As I was discussing it with Jacob one day he pulled out all the patterns and told me to pick one. I picked my pattern and had great success crafting it.

My roommate, Heather, and friend, Lori, also liked the apron so much they each made their own. Lori used a different pattern and it is also very cute. Heather's apron is the same pattern as mine and equally attractive.

Of course my favorite part was picking out the fabric, but I must also admit it was pretty fun to sew. His mom does a great job with the patterns and they are cute and easy to make.

So, because aprons are so in (that's what Laura said at my bridal shower, and the kiosks at the Utah malls might also be proof), I decided to share both the photo of my lovely creation and the link to the online store.

Happy sewing!

Our Song?

Just wondering how many of you couples out there have a song that you would call "our song?"
And if you have one, what is it?

Just curious.

This Is EXACTLY What I Am Talking About

You may remember my rantings from a few days ago about the weather.

Well, this is exactly what I am talking about. An amazing storm blew through Fort Collins yesterday. So chilly on June 7th.

Crazy weather.
