Shannon and her girls came for a week to help with the new baby. Too bad the new baby didn't come on time! We had a fun time going to parks and exploring a little bit of Fort Collins just the same. And Shannon was a huge help as she watched my boys while I was delivering Nora. So I guess it worked out okay in the end. They did all get to meet Nora the night Jacob and I brought her home from the hospital. Unfortunately the girls had recently had fevers so they had to admire from afar, much to their disappointment. It was a bummer.
Every morning you could find the kids cuddled up in blankets because it was "too cold." We had the whole house fan on and the windows open to curb the heat and delay turning on the air conditioner as much as possible.
Shannon got to spend some time with my boys and get to know them a little better. Ben loved playing on Shannon's tablet.
And Isaac and Ben loved all the cousin attention. They were playing a game of cars this morning where the middle person made a bridge for the car.
The Saturday before Nora was born we went to the county fair. The tractors were fun, as usual.
This tractor looked like Otis from a book we have. I thought it was awesome.
And my boys always love the diggers. It was a little disappointing that the cabs weren't open to explore inside.
But the biggest win of them all were the bounce houses and this slide. Shannon was kind enough to go down the slide with Ben who was just slightly too little to go by himself. Isaac would climb the ladder and then hang on his belly at the top of the slide and then go down using his feet to kind of slow him down a bit. He did that about 4 times. It was funny.
Shannon took a bunch of cute pictures of our park adventures and time at the Swetsville Zoo. I'll have to have her send those to me. I sure appreciated all her help and it certainly made the week before Nora's arrival a bit more fun. Thanks Shannon and girls!
