More Shenanigans and Little Boy Cuteness

This little boy is growing up WAY too fast.  I had to buy new shirts for the summer and he wanted to wear this one the other day.  He looked so old to me.  Such a little boy, not a baby at all.  Where did those two and a half years go?  So fast...

I was having a really hard day with Isaac and decided I needed a reset.  While he napped (thankfully) I made "cloud dough" that I had seen on pinterest.  It's pretty fun.  It's just flour and oil but it acts similar to damp sand.  It can compact and be molded but breaks apart easily.  It was messy and fun and just what we needed to get back on track.  Isaac loved it and played with it for at least 30 minutes, and on more than one day.  Awesome.

He also loaded Ben up with toys.  He's helpful like that these days.  Before I could even get to the camera he had starting taking the toys back.  He gives and takes pretty quickly and Ben is mostly good natured about it.  He is starting to get old enough to realize when things are gone and cries sometimes though.

But he's mostly pretty happy.

These little boys are adorable first thing in the morning.

These boys are especially cute first thing in the morning when Isaac wanted to read to little Ben.  I love these moments.  I was actually getting ready when this particular moment happened and Jacob was smart enough to capture it on camera.  I'm glad he thinks of these things when I so often don't.

We've gotten a lot of snow the past week.  More than we got all winter.  Isaac has loved looking at it but he's not been out in it much due to having yet another cold.

Two days after all this snow fell we had 60 degree weather and it all melted in a matter of a few days.  That's Colorado for you.  And then we had more snow today.  I think we are all really glad for whatever snow or rain we can get after all the fires last year.  We are hoping to avoid drought this summer but still not sure we've had enough water to do that.  Here's hoping.  These 12 inches can't hurt!

Such a cute little rolly polly.

He really can move when he wants.  Good thing he's still somewhat content to play with toys I give him in the spot I set him.

More cloud dough fun.  I think he played for almost an hour this day.  Who knew it would be such a hit.  If it weren't so messy I'd let him do it all day long.  So much of this dough ended on the floor or elsewhere that I threw it out.  I'll have to make some more soon.

Awww...such cute boys.  I'm one lucky wife and mom!

Isaac has been really funny about his ties lately, and especially this one.  He is constantly wanting to wear them.  I go walking with my friend, Carol Van Shaar and her daughter every Wednesday and Friday.  We have had to walk at the mall the past few times because of the cold.  I had Isaac all bundled up last Friday and right before we left he insisted on wearing this tie.  So we headed to the mall with Isaac and his tie, over his coat.  It was awesome.

We must tell Isaac he is handsome a lot, especially when fancied up for church, because he will put this tie on and tell us he is so handsome.  Yes Isaac, you sure are.

And Ben is handsome no matter what he wears.  At least I think so.

Shenanigans

There will have to be a part two of this post when I get some time to upload photos.  For now this will have to suffice.

Isaac is full of mischief.  Non-stop, all day long trouble.  Mostly in a cute, normal two-year old way and sometimes in the annoying, normal two-year old way.

Isaac gets "quiet time" every day.  Some days he actually naps, and that is fantastic, and other days not so much.  Most of the time on his napping days he falls asleep calmly in his bed after several minutes of mischief and play.  Sometimes he falls asleep less calmly.  I love these pictures.  He often pulls his mattress off his box springs to make a slide.

Such a worried sleeper.  I wonder what he's dreaming of as he naps.

He also usually empties all his toys and throws all the books in his room on the floor (I've limited the number after cleaning up books more than I wanted too).  Let's just say that quiet time is a relative term.

Isaac was recently gifted finger paints.  He made such a huge mess that I ended up throwing whatever paint was left over away.  But he did have a fun time.  Too bad he got finger paint all over himself regardless of the full coverage bib.  And then let's not forget the paint that was smeared on me as I was trying to clean him up.  Most of it washed out...except the red paint.  Oh well.

I have many more mischievous pictures to come.  And just to add to the crazy in our house, Ben rolls from back to stomach now and figured out VERY quickly that he could roll across the room to whatever objects he wants (he's only 4 and a half months old...isn't this way too early for this much mobility?).  And there are usually a lot of "fun" toys left about by the tornado of Isaac.  No wonder I'm spent by 9pm and usually end up falling asleep watching tv.  My days of productivity after bedtime are long gone.  Sure do love my energetic boys!

Stay tuned for more Brunson shenanigans!

4 Months Old

Ben is pretty awesome.  He continues to be pretty easy going and definitely a happy boy.  He smiles and laughs all the time.  His chunky little thighs are about as cute as can be.  And I really can't stop kissing his cheeks.  They are oh so kissable.

Have I mentioned he has found his toes.  It's his new favorite thing.  Unfortunately, it does sometimes get in the way of his sleeping.  Those toes are just too fun to play with.  Especially at 2 am.

And he still LOVES his brother.  Maybe better than any of the rest of us.

He is strong and grabby too.

He still rolls from tummy to back but has not mastered the back to stomach roll.  I think he's capable, he just hasn't realized it yet.

We sure love having this sweet, mellow babe in our home.  He gets more fun and cute by the day.
Here's the 4 month comparisons.  It looks much better if you click to make it bigger.

Bragging

Jacob bought me flowers.  He does this periodically.  He's good like that.  And I thought I'd let you all know.  This bouquet is especially beautiful.

I love the big gerber daisy.

And I'll always love lillies.  They were in my wedding bouquet.

And how fun to have an orchid!

Here's the real scoop though.  The reason I get flowers so regularly is that I married a bargain hunter.  He shops the reduced section of our Kroger for flowers.  This particular bouquet was originally 30 bucks but he got it for 5.  Love it!  And I love my Jacob.  I'm glad he is so thoughtful and so frugal.

I also thought I'd take a second to brag about Isaac.  The other day we were sitting down to dinner and I told him to stop picking at his nose.  He then looked at me and very matter of factly stated "I'm digging for snot."  Yep, that's my boy!

We also let him dig into his chocolate Easter bunny.  As I was taking it out of it's package his eyes got really big and he softly said "wow."  We let him go at the whole thing for a few minutes before determining he had eaten enough chocolate.  It was awesome.
