I forgot that I wanted to blog about this little experience so that one day, when Isaac is older, I can remember to tell him.
President Obama was in Fort Collins speaking at the college not too long ago. August 28 to be exact. The next day Jacob left for work as usual but I got a call from him shortly after he got to work. He told me he barely made it the few blocks to work because police were closing off the main street by our home. He told me President Obama's motorcade would be coming our way soon.
I figured this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity so I grabbed Isaac and walked down to the corner by the gas station to see the Presidential motorcade. Turns out "soon" was relative. I got tired of holding Isaac so I walked back to the house and go the stroller. Isaac loved watching the police cars driving up and down the shut down road with their sirens and lights while we waited for the main event.
The President and his large posse finally drove by, pretty quickly might I add, and that was that. They were preceded by many police officers on their motorcycles. I was surprised by how big the entourage was. And quite surprised by how strict the police officers were about not even letting people off the edge of the sidewalk. I guess a President's safety isn't taken lightly.
After it was all said and done Isaac said "Again. Police Cars, again!."
Apparently it was a hit.

I guess it was worth the trip if Isaac enjoyed it!
Yeah, who cares that the president was there somewhere. Bring on more police cars! :) Hey- I switched to private so i need your email to add it if you want to read my blog anymore. kccampbell21@hotmail.com Thanks Sandy! I love seeing your little guy!
If I were the president I would love to know that my police car escorts were making so many little children happy. It would be a nice change of perspective. Kids experience the world so differently than adults sometimes that it is nice to be with them and see through their eyes. What a cute boy!
That's pretty cool and I'm sure someday he will totally love this story!
It is like a 4th of July Parade without all the crowds and moving faster. I can see why it was so appealing to Isaac.
