The Oregon Zoo

Going to the zoo is always a highlight of our trips to Oregon.  Grandma loves the zoo and came with us this time.  There was some construction near the elephant exhibit so it wasn't as fun as it could have been but aside from that we had a really great visit.  We packed a lunch and made a day of it.  At least until Ben really lost it.  I was trying to get him to fall asleep in the stroller but he was having none of it.  He was asleep in the car seat on the way home before we even left the parking lot.  Funny.

The actual lions were my favorite exhibit this visit.  There was a daddy, mommy and three cubs.  That daddy lion was HUGE!  It was funny because the dad was asleep behind a rock and the mom was hanging with the cubs on the rock.  I guess mom was done hanging with the kiddos and went and woke the daddy up to take over.  It was awesome.

This cougar was pretty fun too.  Ben kept saying cougar over and over.  I didn't even knew he could say cougar.  He says it really cute.

Both boys took long naps that afternoon which worked out really well.  They were rested enough we could do some fun water play in the back yard and then do s'mores after dinner.  It was a good way to end the day.

Ben was not a fan of daddy sliding him down the slide.  He did love the water at the end of the slide though.

Isaac loved everything about it.  He couldn't quite get the hang of running before the slide and then jumping onto the slide.  He just ran down the slip n' slide and dropped at the end.  Cute.

Ben did love Grandma's cats though.  Grandma recently kicked the cats outside so they boys chased them around to their hearts content.  Isaac did get nipped by Jimmy at one point, playing too rough I guess.  He was scared more than hurt I'm sure.

Some pre- s'mores lion hunts.  They boys sure loved the attention from their grandparents.

This might have been Isaac's first real s'more.  I don't think he ate one last year when we made them.  He loved it.  I loved them too.  Grandpa did most of the roasting and he is a pro.

It was a little hot by the fire, hence the towel around his arm.  Delicious fun!  I ate way too much, that might have been the theme of the trip for me though...
