Isaac

I wanted to write a post just full of all the fun things about Isaac that I don't want to forget.  I just wish they were as cute in writing as they are in person.  I need to get some videos of some of these really cute things but until then this will have to do.

1. "much more better"-  Isaac says this all the time.  "Oh, see much more better" after climbing on a chair, "much more better" after putting my arm around him while reading a story, etc.  It's awesome.  I think it is both Jacob and my's favorite current phrase of his.
2. All things Polar Express- This Christmas season has been so fun with Isaac.  He has loved reading the Christmas books we have but mostly just wanted the Polar Express every nap time (when they happen) and every bedtime.  He watched the movie once after Ben was born and asked for it every day after.  Poor kid, only got to see it that one time.  It scared him a little and I didn't want to have to sit with him to watch it again.  He loves the soundtrack to the movie and we did play it almost daily.  And he'd sing along.  But the best was how he had the book memorized and could fill in almost any blank as we read.
3. Santa Tracker-  Christmas Eve Jacob loaded up the google Santa tracker and Isaac LOVED it.  He wanted to sit at the computer or touch pad all day watching where Santa was.  Neither Jacob or I expected him to get it or like it but boy were we wrong!
4. "ohhh-ohhh"  Isaac exclaims "oh" in the cutest way when he's discovered something new or done something he thinks is really clever.  I wish I could capture it but I don't know if I will be able to.
5. christmas count-downs- We did three different countdowns this year.  We had a wood block countdown that we would change the number on every day.  Isaac didn't care much about that one.  But he loved his chocolate countdown that Aunt Shannon sent him.  He'd ask for it multiple times a day and never really seemed to understand that he only got one peice of candy a day.  Our friends, the Van Shaars, gave us their family tradition of a Jelly Belly countdown.  Isaac also loved this one.  We would read a scripture, sing a Christmas hymn, and then try and guess the days flavor of Jelly Belly.  His guesses were usually "pink" or repeating whatever Jacob or I said.  He asked for the jelly bean on Christmas night and was pretty sad to learn we had completed the countdown.
6. "Chuga chuga choo choo, whistle blowing woo woo" We once got a book from the library that had this line in it and ever since then Isaac has said this phrase whenever he sees a train or is talking about things train related.  So you can imagine we heard this a lot recently with his love of the Polar Express.  That phrase and:
7.  "All aboard"-  He loved to be the conductor from Polar Express and yell, sometimes very loudly, "All aboard!"
8. Standing on something and doing the "hot dog" song and dance:  I have recently let him watch a lot of the Mickey Mouse clubhouse on youtube.  At the end of every episode they do the "hot dog" song and dance.  Isaac will randomly stand on something (box, blocks, lego lid) and start singing and dancing away.  As much as I really dislike the show I love Isaac's "hot dog" dance.  Thank Aunt Shannon again for telling me about that show...
9. Teaching him to dance:  The other night I got on my knees so Isaac and I could dance in the kitchen to some Christmas music or the new Blake Shelton CD Jacob got me.  He put his hand on my waist and I put my hand on his shoulder and we danced a few minutes.  I hope I always remember that moment.
10. Singing Silent Night, Jingle Bells, Rudolph, Go tell it on the mountain, any song from Polar Express:  Isaac has become quite the singer.  I tear up almost every time he sings silent night (I mostly blame the post pregnancy hormones for the tears).  It really is amazing how quickly he picks up on song lyrics though.  The really funny thing about his singing is he often chooses to sing in a nasally voice.  It's weird.

A few I forgot to mention:  Isaac calls snowflakes "cornflakes" and he called the cheese ball I made for New Years a "meat ball."

So cute! Glad you recorded these! I know there are at least 30 things that I've meant to record over the last six months but I never did and now I don't remember. Boo. Love that Isaac's such a singer and dancer. I feel the same way about mickey mouse club house.

Cute, what a fun age! Hannah's favorite movie this holiday season was the old frosty the snowman movie. We watch it at least daily. It is really cute to hear her sing frosty the snowman and other Christmas songs. It is sad that Isaac and Hannah are growing up so fast. I saac seems way more grown up than last time I saw him!

It's fun to hear all the cute things Isaac is saying and doing. I really hope we can visit soon. It would be so fun to see Isaac and Hannah interact. Ben is adorable. I love his Santa-bum outfit. I'm sorry breastfeeding isn't going well, but I'm sure there would be some great perks to straight bottle-feeding.
