Oh Ben. We have seen these tear filled eyes all too often these days. He is still adorable and very prone to throwing fits. He was so mild at 2 that I guess he had to have some "terrible" attributes emerge at 3. Growing up can be so hard.
And then there are times when he is just totally pleasant. And, thankfully, he is always cute. We bought him this new sweater and some new shoes for church. He thought he was so awesome that first Sunday he wore them. It was a Sunday where sickness continued and it was Just he and I at church. I'm always a little surprised at how much easier Sacrament meeting is with just one of the kids.
Nora. She has continued to grow and do big things. She went through a rough patch with sleeping and eating when she got sick. She still always loved her rice cereal though.
And she has learned how to play peek a boo like a pro. It's adorable.
She crawled around getting into Ben's tape activity and couldn't quite figure out how to get unstuck from all those little bits of tape. It was hilarious to watch.
I love it when these boys find a way to entertain themselves while I cook dinner. This particular evening it was drawing on their magnetic boogie boards stuck to the fridge. Isaac drew a picture of our family with every member of the family raising an arm to their mouth to cover a cough. So true...so true.
I was experimenting with the light at sunset and Isaac humored me for a few photos at least. He is the hardest of the kids to get a picture of. I think I'm going to focus on one kid each month and try and get a really good photo of just that one kid. We'll see how that goes.
We have watched a lot of shows with the sickness that hit us. This time it was under shelter of a living room tent.
Isaac asked to play with the pearler beads the other day. I had to take the camera out because he just looked so big. He really is getting to be such a big kid. He was able to make a car all by himself.
I loved those big kid hands working with those tiny beads.
And I loved this picture of Ben. I'm so sad it's a little out of focus so I can't blow it up big for my wall. He looks so done with me having the camera out. He does often say "stop taking pictures."
And I love his big bright eyes. He is getting big too...
He also wanted a chance at the beads once Isaac had gone to preschool. His fine motor skills are not quite as good but he made a "car" of sorts with a little help from me.
And then later that day it was warm enough and both boys were feeling well enough that they played outside for a bit.
I loved that they attempted to sled on the mostly melted/icy snow.
And of course Nora still can't get enough of her brother's attention. She just loves Isaac.
And I LOVE bedtime. My word am I worn out by the end of the day. I know someday I'll look back and be so grateful I have pictures of my sleeping babies at this age. So big yet so little. I didn't dare take a picture of Nora. Didn't want to risk waking her. Maybe sometime while she's napping I'll give it a go.
I asked Ben if he would let me take a picture of just him. He complied. I didn't get any really good shots but I kind of loved this one that looked like he was playing football.
Nora is so busy and pulling up on things and crawling all around. I love the facial expression in the out of focus top photo and will probably blow up the bottom one because it's adorable.
And finally, a couple of Saturdays ago we went for a walk in one of the natural areas. It was so nice to finally all be well enough to go. Nora's nose was running the whole time, but aside from that we all loved being out doors.
I love this photo of Isaac holding Nora's hand while she's in the backpack carrier. We are trying to get her used to it so we can go hiking more this summer.
I think these boys especially loved the chance to be out and exploring. Can't blame them! They have been cooped up far too long.
I'm not sure why this was loaded last but it's a more in focus version of the picture I love without the better facial expression from Ben. Still a good one though.
