4 Months Old

Happy 4 months to Isaac!

He is getting to be such a big baby boy. He seems really strong to me. He does things that I'm pretty sure babies his age shouldn't do so well. He loves to stand and can basically support himself. His balance isn't stellar so he needs his hands held, but come on, he's just four months old! He has recently started lifting his head off the ground when on his back like he wants to sit up or see his feet or something. He rolled over from stomach to back on Valentine's Day and we have yet to see it again. I think he might be a little stubborn. He learned quickly how to avoid taking his acid reflux medication and now clamps his jaw shut or sticks his tongue out when he sees the syringe coming. He hasn't rolled from back to stomach but I think it's coming soon.

But maybe his biggest accomplishment is being able to fall asleep in his crib. He no longer cries for what seems like an eternity. It is down to more like 5 minutes and then he is asleep. At least most of the time. He still doesn't stay asleep for longer than 40 minutes (usually), but progress is progress no matter how small.

He also laughed at me yesterday for the first time. He has some really great "goos" and squeals but hasn't really full on laughed before. It was pretty cute.

Basically he is a good, happy boy and it is fun watching him grow and develop. I am lucky to be his mom and to spend my days with him. He is pretty adorable.

This one really sums up what Isaac is all about. He has always loved putting things in his mouth...and seems to continue in that trend.

Glad I read this post before I read the other 2, happy to hear things are improving. You are not a bad mother, it is okay to cry, call someone when you are going crazy and think about all the times you will get to wake HIM up for school/seminary and not feel one bit bad. We have all been there. Goodness with all those hormone adjustments men are lucky we forget all the unpleasantness and have more than one child. Hang in there.

Great post! Glad to see things are going better with the crib sleeping! It's so funny how babies are different. Pru gobbled up her acid reflux meds no problem.

Very cute! And so happy to hear he's doing better with falling asleep. We're still working on that over here. Some days it works, some it doesn't. It's always so much fun when they start laughing. You can never stay mad at them when they start laughing.
